They Did It and It Couldn't Be Done

Is it me, or is the Haka sort of sexy? Too bad for me, I won't be seeing it anytime soon as France actually beat the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup tonight. This is like, well, ... hell, who am I kidding, I don't know enough about sports to even make a decent comparison but let's just say it's an unexpected delight for Frenchmen. I'm not sure about the women, just in case they appreciate the Haka in which case it's merely a mixed blessing.

Something I don't understand, though: France is hosting the World Cup, yet this match was played (inexplicably) in Wales. Why is that? Is it a French organization thing or what?

CAn you believe we fell asleep at half time? And I so wanted to see the all blacks do their thing before the match, but got stuck reading various Boynton books for what seemed like hours.

I know, I was blown away to learn that France had won on Saturday night! Ironically enough, I was out with some friends but we were in a bar without a TV, and although I heard the cheers in the streets, I didn't know the "true" results until my boyfriend told me on the phone. I just haven't been following much either...

But I, too, thought it was completely bizarre that that game wasn't played in France -- I commented on this to my boyfriend, and he said he wasn't entirely clear on the reasons either. Strange. Must be explained somewhere on the Net...
