News

The 12-week ultrasound looked good. That's right, folks, after what feels like forever, I am excited to say that we're going to have a baby. On Monday we saw the major organs (along with hands and fingers, which I am still reliving) and the baby in general looked more baby-like and less like E.T. We are delighted, and I'm officially allowing myself to get excited. I have held myself back from buying baby-related stuff, but it's time for me to get a few things to coo over and look forward to. I'm feeling better and able to eat more as well -- thank you, Lord, it was about time. For my other friends with babies out there: now we are really going to be able to entertain ourselves with swapping weird pregnancy stories. I can't wait.

I'm still waiting for my job contract, but I think they more or less know that I'm pregnant and I think they'll be okay with it. I'm trying to change gynecologists for reasons I'll keep to myself right now, but will probably need to blog about soon just because of the catharsis involved. To put it politely, I had a somewhat stressful first trimester because of her and I. Am. So. Through. With. That. I am fine, the baby is fine, and I know we can't predict the future, but still for my sanity I think she could have been a little warmer.

I've got a little bump that is getting bigger, which is both exciting and downright scary. The thing that apparently gives it away is the fact that I have cleavage for the first time in my life that doesn't require the use of both duct tape and a Wonderbra. I'd buy a slinky black dress but know I'd just grow right out of it.

Geez, must be something in the water lately, I feel like I'm the only (female) blogger not pregnant, haha!

Seriously though, congratulations!

II am so excited and finally glad that I could shout from the rooftop that finally all the quilting and sewing could be put to good use. Yeah, I am so happy for you and yours and for us and us. Just stay healthy and happy. Most of my friends couldn't believe I could keep a secret either. It was sooooo hard so thank you now I can breathe.

Such good news. I'm so pleased for you.I had a male gynae who was truly excellent but warm? No. I do find french medical staff a little cool but always helpful and efficient. Health care's good here.

On another note re. your inquiry about lentils-I'll eat them anyhow and with anything. Truly. As they're bland they soak up other flavours easily. You can cook them with rice which makes it a perfect protein substitute for meat, mix with onions and garlic or goat's cheese in a salad, tabasco's good too and so on... Google "lentil recipes" and choose. If you don't like the texture hide them in soup! They're worth it because they're so good for you.
