What's been going on this week (or how I traumatized my kid today)
- La gastro, also known as the stomach flu. It's hanging over my head like the sword of Damocles but I'm trying to be optimistic that all the hand-washing has paid off. My husband was hit hard and the baby currently seems to be recovering well. Am thinking the Japanese mask campaign would work pretty well here and wish it would catch on. Have done lots and lots of laundry.
- Woo hoo -- I finally have my 10-year residency card! Will not go into details because I think my fingers would bleed from all the pent-up resentment and frustration unleashed by typing. Now we'll just have to wait and see what other roadblocks the loan people will throw in our path before we can move into our new house WITH A YARD. (Ouch, that hurt...must calm down)
- My child is totally weirded out by Play-Doh. I thought it would be a special fun thing to do today, seeing as how we were both up all last night in less than desirable circumstances. But no, she hated the stuff despite my best efforts to show her how wonderful it is. Me: No, really, it's fun! Go ahead, squish it! Her: Ewwwwwww get it away from me, it's pliable and grooooooooosssssssss GOOD GOD WOMAN DON'T LET IT TOUCH MY FOOT run away run away! So, I guess I'll have the Food Factory to myself.

I remember my youngest being totally grossed out by playdoh too! Too squishy and slimy, apparently.
Then they get to the stage where they want to eat it....
Hope the gastro disappears soon!
Congrats on the residency card I know part of the perils you've been thru now if only we can hear that you are ready to move. I hope I hope it's soon. I do hope you are strong enough to come thru without the virus.
lol, at the plahdoh adversion! i just introduced it too (we got a free box from the super-U a year ago), but she loves to sniff it and lick it when she thinks I am not looking. good way to get gasto, huh? play-doh germs!
good lord, when will either of us move? this country takes forever!
Probably just as well she doesn't like the playdoh. I've got containers of it that I'm afraid to open for fear of letting out all the creepy microbes that must be growing in there. And if I through them away, they might escape into the world in general. Yuck.
Well, I'm a little relieved that there's still hope in the future! But germs? Never thought about those...
I always hated Play-do because of its weird smell.
Coincidentally, my 17-year-old daughter and I spent some time clearing out the "toys in the attic" and threw out ALL of the Play-do. It's scary to see what happens to it after ten years.
