One more day to get this show on the road

Well, I think I spent most of yesterday standing up. My in-laws came over and we took a 2+ hour walk, my husband and I had spicy tacos for dinner and then you'll just have to fill in the rest yourself. The baby has continued to drop but I don't think she's quite in position yet. I'm worried that somehow she'll manage to crawl back up and cling to my rib cage but I'm hoping it's technically impossible and just my insanity flaring up again. There have been a few false hopes on my part recently so I'm really just trying to chill out and think about finally being able to see the baby BEFORE she cuts her first teeth and gets asked to the prom. There have also been a few more physical changes (I don't want to jinx anything so I'll remain silent) and the cat is super-clingy...do they have feline intuition or is it just my nerves that she's reacting to?

Anyway.

Man, I did some incredible labor dances yesterday. I took Reb's advice and added on Hungry Like A Wolf in addition to (Our Love's In) Jeopardy, Jump (For My Love), and Super Freak. I also did a very, very enthusiastic dance once again to Shaking the Tree that was completely inspired by the 1.5 hour African Dance class I took back in college. While it didn't exactly get labor started, I think it may have provoked shin splints, fallen arches and possible future back issues. That's okay; it gave me a goal at the time and goals are good. Today I'm not actually physically capable of a labor dance so I'm going to do some slight bouncing to Ricky Skaggs and maybe glam rock. I still haven't been able to dig up much in the way of rap...I think somewhere in a box I may have a copy of Push It by Salt -n- Pepa, but I don't know if that really counts. What else have I missed? It's got to be something glaringly obvious.

Edited: Oh, dear God it just hit me like a bolt of lightning -- Push It has GOT to be the magic song. Just think about it. It's even got Lamaze breathing and labor screams. The rest of my day will now be spent searching for that tape that may or may not be in France.

Edited again: Never mind -- my best friend YouTube came through, and NOT ONLY do I have the music, I ALSO have the dance steps. How appropriate to have an epiphay so close to Easter.

The man actually says "This dance ain't for everybody -- only the sexy people [and by 'sexy,' I know he really means 'pregnant.'] So, all you fly mothers, get on out there and dance." See? SEE??!! He's talking to me! TO ME!! I haven't been this excited since well, who cares?

My only question is, can I do it myself or do I have to convince my husband to play along with me and be Pepa? I shouldn't admit this on a public blog but one Halloween we did dress up as salt and pepper shakers so we've already got the outfits. Of course, only one of us can actually fit in his, but I can improvise.

As long as we're going old school, how about "Humpty Dance"? Just might do the trick!

Hope the baby comes this weekend...I was thinking about you since this entry didn't come up in my bloglines, I thought maybe her baby came... keep at it, girl. Nature will take its course, though slow it will happen!

Looking forward to seeing photos of your little one. :)

Maybe another Push It--by Static X. She might be hardcore...

I'd be really interested to see an overly due pregnant woman "doing the butt" like Salt n Peppa. Wouldn't there be an issue with your center of gravity?!
