Distressed

Sometimes I miss home so hard it hurts. Sometimes France is frustrating and bewildering, and there are truly some strange people riding around on the trains. Still, it's hard to imagine a mass shooting here. People assaulting police with potted plants, yes, apparently. But not this kind of violence.

I'm hoping the reports of 22 dead are somehow wrong. No one ever believes that this could happen where you live. I lived in this area most of my life. This is where I met my husband. This was our home. I just don't get it.

I feel for you. When I was in college in Maine, there was a shooting at the post office I used to go to at home. It really gets to you..

m-
this is so much worse than one could fathom. being close to campus, it's completely devastating and we are all heart-broken. the outpooring of emotion and support is wonderful to see. this will certainly help the healing... the pic of e in the HOKIE outfit brightened my day!
love to you all-k

OH, god, I totally forgot you lived there! I am so sorry. It was terrible, horrible and worse because you knew the place. I hope everyone you know and love are safe!
