Baby got back

I've been so focused on my belly lately that the dreaded stretch marks and their best friend, cellulite, managed to take over my butt without my noticing. Until yesterday, that is. I was trying on clothing for a wedding and noticing that things are definitely tighter when I accidentally caught a glimpse of my back side in our big IKEA mirrors and just couldn't help the "Oh, Dear God" that slipped outside of my mouth. How did this happen?! No, don't tell me, I already know...I was paying attention during "that video" the girls saw in fifth grade. I was just expecting my front to grow more quickly than my backside. My poor husband -- who will probably be sainted in the afterlife despite being an atheist (I'm positive God loves this man) -- took me shopping for a new dress and we found one. He is actually the one that spotted it, and although it won't exactly grow with me I'm pretty excited. I'm going to wear the freak out of it while I can.

I have been eating like a champion for the past couple of days. I don't know if it's the cold weather, I don't know if I can call it cravings yet, I don't know if I'm just a pig, but I've been able to put away some food lately. It's not exactly 'eating for two;' it's more like 'making up for lost time.' The difference is that I want to eat and feel like I Must Have Food. I've been having my daily fruit allowance between meals and eating more breakfast.

Right. I know this is boring as hell but this is my life. In other news, I am happy to announce I am teaching more of the kiddie classes. We're still in the honeymoon stage where they are all angelic but so far I think I may have some great groups. I start two new ones next week. I think my youngest student in the group will be 3 and 1/2 -- I'm a little worried about the whole bathroom thing since the facilities will be far from the classroom ON THE FLOOR BELOW THE CLASSROOM, but we'll see how it goes. That's really the only thing that drives me crazy...there are things that little people classrooms need and I'm never in a little people friendly classroom. The great news is that I will be their teacher from the very beginning (versus taking over in the middle) so I can get their routine started my way. Call it being structured, call it micromanaging...with the littlest ones, it works for me. Maybe I'll write more about it in the teaching blog later on.

Dad said not to worry about the butt that it does run in the family but not on dad's side.
He got a good chuckle out of this one.
Glad you are eating and hope the wedding trip is great.
sounds like the little people are just what you need. Bathroom breaks might be another thing.
Love ya

This gave me a great giggle! I'm happy to read that all is going well - stretch marks and all - very good signs, I think, of a healthy, wonderful baby!

What a delightful post!

Glad to hear you are feeling better and congrats on the class. I know what you mean about starting with the class. When you have to come in the middle, it takes a while for everyone to get used to one another.

Ah yes, the stretch marks. I'm right there with ya! I have also been eating more lately. I think that it is partly due to the weather, and partly due to the baby being hungry!
