Right. Next week this blog may be a little different. I hope. That's all I have to say about that (right yet).
Recently I haven't been doing such a great job in the kitchen. I haven't made any of my favorite recipes in a while, although I swear I will get back on track. Soon. Yesterday we stayed out until late and slept in past the time for pain au chocolat, so I made chocolate chip pancakes instead. Sometimes I long for a waffle maker, but we have no place to put it so I'll add that to the list of things I dream about. Moving on up, as the Jeffersons said.
One other recent highlight of my week was finishing War and Peace. I was reading it as part of my on-line book club, but given my recent frame of mind it was really difficult to get through. In the end, I was just tired of looking at it and bit the bullet and got through the end. I found the film in English at a good price and attempted to watch it, but Audrey Hepburn wasn't a believable Natasha and I fell asleep after 10 minutes. I've now switched to Wicked by Gregory Maguire for a nice change and I'm not disappointed. It's the life story of the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz, with a lot of modern politial and religious implications.
Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for us.

OMG, I'm on page 160 something of War and Peace and hope I can get through it too! A slow read, eh? Worst thing is I don't know why I feel so darn compelled to read it. geez.
That book is so good! I totally got hooked on him after Wicked. My favorite is The Ugly Stepsister.
FYI, It took me 6 months to finish War and Peace and I usually finish a book within 2 days.
