Just for Mom...

who told me how happy it makes her to read about my good days. Well, here are a few more.

Thursday: went with a friend to Paris to move her stuff. Ate at a cute bistro, watched a cute movie (I heartily recommend 'Paris je t'aime -- it's a mixture of French and English, hence quite easy to understand'). Got quite a bit into my new book.

Friday: watched the military parade at home on TV (which I totally loved), then went into Paris with S to watch the fireworks. Had a nice dinner at a trendy restaurant that was way too cool for us, but we liked the food a lot. It had an apple theme, and very good cheesecake. Bought 2 more vacation books -- Freakanomics for me, some sciencey thing for the husband.

Saturday: Went into Paris to listen to jazz music in the Parc Floral. Lazed about all day under a tree with a book. Had a long nap. Took the long way back to the train station...ate ice cream and steak along the way. Yes, in that order.

Sunday: Hung out at home. For whatever reason, I was exhausted. S kindly indulged my need for The Sound of Music.

Today I went into Paris for the 4th time in 5 days to meet a friend, who didn't show up. No problem, 'cause I've got the whole hanging out thing down pat. Found peppermint tea, more books, presents for new babies...none of which I bought, but at least I know where they are when I need them. Satisfied my craving for watermelon, mashed potatoes and peas, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Plans for later this week? Possibly another trip to Paris, a haircut, and maybe a trip to the vet for the cat. I love not working. It's the not getting paid part I don't like, but I think I can handle it for a month.

I can sure handle you're being happy and enjoying Paris so much. Glad you are enjoying the free time even making do with less and I look forward to hearing about your days. I can count my blessings knowing that you have the most wonderful life and I couldn't be prouder of you and S.
Had a hot day trying to fix a water problem and digging a ditch and filling it in with a drain. Mr. D took off for the more exciting car auction, but Punkin and I are enjoying the free time have a great one and look forward to the next blog.

I am almost positive I know which apple themed place you are talking about. I have always wondered about it. When I get back, I will give you an address for an excellent tea shop!
